How I manage my aquarium?

The guppies are small. Therefore, there's no need to chose of use a big tank to rare them. Unless if you want to rare more or many guppies. If I want to rare guppies, for me I will chose a 25 inches aquarium to rare my guppies.

For decoration, I will insert some of the water plants like water milfoil and Hemianthus micranthemoides. Before insert the plants, I will put some sand and small rock on bottom of the aquarium to insert the plants' root inside the sand to stable it. Besides that, to make the aquarium look more beautiful we also can insert the fake plants that have many colors and shapes. For me, I will prefer to insert fake plants because the plants can maintain longer than the real plants.

If the aquarium has growth with algae, I will use algae treatment solution and measure about 1 cap of the solution and pour into the aquarium. To avoid the growth of the algae, better put the aquarium inside the house because of the outer sunlight that the algae need the process of photosynthesis. Besides that, when you rare your guppies outside, make sure that neither the aquarium nor tank is not expose to the sun, because the heat form the sun will cause the water become warm, maybe the fishes will die in the warm. Or else, put plenty of aquatic floating plants such as hydrophyte to block the sunlight.

Usually, I will change the dirty water every one week. After I have wash the surface of the aquarium and suck out the dirty water with a long pipe, I will insert clean water into the tank. After that, I will pour 1 cap of algae treatment solution and 1/2 cap of the bacterial solution into the water and a little bit of salt to kill the harmful bacteria and eliminates toxic ammonia and nitrite in the water. If not the fishes will die.

To maintain the clean environment in the aquarium, I will install a water pump.

Breeding Guppy

Actually, guppies are Ovoviviparous animal and they are in vivo fertilization animal which mean the female guppy will accept fertilize by the male guppy

The aquarium will become more and more guppy fishes because their fertilization process is very fast. It's easy to breed a guppy in an aquarium when male guppy mixed with the female guppy. When they are mating with each other, the male guppy will curve its body and show their colorful fin and tail or the male guppy will chase the female guppy to mate with the female.

After the female guppy has accept the male guppy, they will swim in parallel style which mean they will swim together in the water. Then, the male fish will swing and extend their sex organ to inject sperm into the female body rapidly. After that, the sperm and the egg will combine together. And the percentage of fertilize is about 96%.

If a female guppy pregnant, we can clearly observe that the abdomen of the fish has a black spot. That is the fry (baby fish) in their abdomen.

After that, the female fish will give born within 21 until 30 days. The female will give born about 20 to 250 fry (baby fish). After the female has gave born, the fry will not be take care of their mother. Wait until 21 days, the fry will become adult fishes and fertilize again.
